All APPIC-member internship programs must register to participate in the Match if they have positions available to start training in 2019.
Non-APPIC member sites that have participated in the Match and/or Post-Match Vacancy Service for less than two years, or that are members of the Canadian Council of Professional Psychology Programs (CCPPP), are welcome and encouraged to participate.
Non-APPIC member sites that have participated for two years will be granted a one-time exception to the two-year limitation if they apply for APPIC membership during the 2018 Fall membership cycle (i.e., by September 1, 2018). Internship sites that apply for APPIC membership during the Fall membership cycle, and that have not exceeded their limit for non-member participation, must register to participate in the Match before their membership applications will be processed by APPIC.
In order to register to participate in the Match, non-APPIC members must be in compliance with APPIC's policies for Non-APPIC Internship Program participation and pay a Match registration fee of $295 USD.
All APPIC member sites, and some eligible non-member sites that may be interested in participating in the 2019 Match, are sent a registration e-mail with a personalized link and instructions for registering their training site for the Match.
If you have not received a personalized e-mail to register your training site for the Match by August 15, 2018, please contact NMS.
The registration process must be completed by the Training Director of the training site and can be started by clicking on the personalized link in the registration e-mail sent by NMS.
As part of the registration process, the Training Director must identify a senior official at the training site (e.g. Chief Psychologist, CEO, Hospital Director, etc.) who will receive notification of the training site's registration. The official should be someone, other than the Training Director, who is responsible for ensuring the internship will meet its financial obligation to fund internship slots.
After You Register
After the online registration process is complete, you will receive a confirmation by e-mail which includes the Match Code Number(s) and description(s) for each program registered for the Match.
You should provide the Match Code Number(s) of your program(s) to each of your applicants, as the Code Number(s) uniquely identify your program(s) in the Match. This is particularly relevant for training sites that are offering more than one program in the Match.
Updating Your Training Site and Program Information
Once the online registration process is complete, you can log in to the NMS Match System to update your training site or program information. This includes modifying the number of positions offered by a program in the Match, adding an additional program to your training site, withdrawing a program from the Match if you no longer intend to offer any positions in the program, or modifying your contact information.
