You must be registered for ORMatch in order to send applications to residencies using the ORMatch Application Service, submit your Rank Order List, and be ranked by programs.

Ensure you have your OE TRACKER Number
In order to register for ORMatch, you must provide your OE Tracker Number issued to you by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry.

Learn About Sending Applications to Residencies
You apply to residencies using the NMS Match System. Each residency sets its own application requirements and deadline date. You should check with each residency as soon as possible regarding its application requirements. Required components to send an application include a Letter of Intent, CV, OD Transcript, your NBEO Part I examination score, your unofficial online NBEO score report, and requests for three letters of reference.
Fee
There is a fee of $350 USD to register for ORMatch.
The fee pays for your ORMatch registration and for ten (10) credits to send applications to residencies using the ORMatch Application Service. Additional application credits can be purchased for $25 per credit. Applicants who do not match will be provided with an additional 10 credits for free to submit applications in the Post-Match Process.
Fees are non-refundable (even if you subsequently decide to withdraw from ORMatch) and are not transferable to future Matches or other applicants.
Timing
You should register for ORMatch by December 31, 2024. You must be registered for ORMatch in order to send applications to residencies using the ORMatch Application Service.
The final deadline to register to participate is February 25, 2025. However, most residencies consider applications, conduct their interviews, and submit their Rank Order Lists well before that date. Therefore, you should register well before the final date listed above.

Confirmation and Code Number
When your registration is complete, you will receive a confirmation by email that includes the 5-digit Code Number assigned to you for ORMatch. Use your Code Number in all future correspondence pertaining to ORMatch.
Updating Your Information
Once registered for ORMatch, you can log into the NMS Match System to update your account and profile information. You can also start preparing and submitting applications to residencies.
