Applications and Interviews

The 2018 ASHP Match

Applications

Applications are not processed by NMS. Programs that participate in the Match use the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS) to review applications. Applicants must be registered for the Match in order to be able to send applications to programs using PhORCAS.

Directories

ASHP and the Match maintain separate directories that applicants may consult when searching for programs of interest. The two directories serve different purposes. To minimize confusion for applicants, it is advisable to ensure the information provided in each directory (e.g., residency and program name) is consistent.

Interviews

In order to submit your Rank Order List(s) by the deadline, all your applicant interviews must be completed before that deadline date.

Programs may not communicate their ranking intentions to applicants, or request that any applicant state how any program will be ranked on the applicant's Rank Order List. Similarly, applicants may not communicate their ranking intentions to programs, or request information on how any participating program intends to rank any applicant.

Programs may not make any offers of appointment to or require any commitments from applicants prior to the release of the results for Phase I of the Match, except for PGY2 residency positions that may be committed to PGY1 residents in accordance with the Early Commitment Process. Furthermore, for any positions that are left unfilled in Phase I or that are added for Phase II of the Match, programs may not make any offers of appointment to or require any commitments from applicants prior to the release of the results for Phase II of the Match.

List of Registered Applicants

Residencies participating in the Match will have access to a List of Registered Applicants in the NMS Match System. The list shows the name and Match Code Number assigned to each applicant who is registered to participate in the Match.

The List of Registered Applicants will be available by February 2, 2018.
