Match result information will be available at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on March 19, 2021.
Phase II Match Results Day
Match result information will be available at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on April 14, 2021.
Content
The following information will be available to applicants:
- Matched applicants will be notified of the program where they matched.
- Unmatched applicants will be notified that they did not match and will have access to a list of programs with positions that remain available. Programs with available positions will be able to access a list of applicants who certified a Rank Order List but did not obtain a position.
- Summary statistics of the results of the Match for applicants and programs
Distribution
E-Mail: Match result information will be sent by email before 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on the Match Results Day for each Phase of the Match. Results will be sent by email to applicants that participated in that Phase of the Match (i.e., applicants who certified a Rank Order List and did not withdraw from that Phase of the Match). Due to unreliable email exchanges and inbound servers, we cannot guarantee a delivery time for the emails.
Web: Match result information will be available in the NMS Match System beginning at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on the Match Results Day for each Phase of the Match.
The same Match result information will be provided by email and online for each Phase of the Match. Any applicant who does not receive their result by email should access their result online.
Although NMS makes every effort to provide you with your Match result on Match Results Day, failure to receive your result in a timely manner does not affect your obligation to the program where you are matched.
Obtaining Positions Available After Each Phase of the Match
After Phase I: Participate in Phase II of the Match
Beginning at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on March 19, 2021 a list of programs participating in Phase II of the Match will be available on this web site. This list will include programs that had unfilled positions from Phase I of the Match, as well as any programs that are added to the Match after Phase I.
Applicants who are eligible to participate in Phase II will be able to access PhORCAS to prepare applications for Phase II beginning at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on March 19, 2021 and to submit applications to programs participating in Phase II beginning at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time on March 23, 2021.
All applicants seeking positions after Phase I and all programs with available positions after Phase I submit their Rank Order Lists by the Rank Order List deadline for Phase II of the Match. A second match will be carried out using those Rank Order Lists, and the results of Phase II of the Match will then be distributed.
After Phase II: Participate in the Post-Match Process
Following release of the Phase II Match results, applicants who are not matched and are seeking available positions are permitted to seek and fill positions that remain available independently of the Match. NMS is not involved in the filling of positions during the Post-Match Process.
Beginning at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on April 14, 2021, registered applicants who did not obtain a position in either Phase of the Match will be able to access a list of programs with positions available in the Post-Match Process. Programs will be able to update information on the list so applicants can obtain up-to-date information on the availability of positions. Programs will also have access to a list of applicants who certified a Rank Order List but did not obtain a position.
Applicants participating in the Post-Match Process will be able to prepare applications in PhORCAS beginning on April 14, 2021 and submit applications to programs with available positions beginning at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on April 15, 2021.
The recommended date for programs with available positions to begin making offers to applicants during the Post-Match Process is April 21, 2021.
