Postdoctoral Dental Matching Program for Positions Beginning in 2026


Eligibility

To be eligible to participate in the Dental Match, a residency must either (i) be accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC), or (ii) have applied for initial accreditation, expect to receive accreditation by the completion of training of applicants matched in the 2026 Match, and have received permission from the appropriate sponsoring organization to participate in the Match.

To register for the Match, the residency must agree to abide by the Schedule of Dates for the Match and the Rules of Participation.

Registration Process

The Program Director of each accredited AEGD, ANES, GPR, OMS, ORTHO, PED, PERIO, and PROS residency is sent an email with a personalized link and instructions to register their residency for the 2026 Match.

The registration process should be completed by the Program Director and can be started by clicking on the personalized link in the email sent by NMS.

If you have not received your personalized email to register for the Match by May 9, 2025, please contact NMS.

Fees

The fees to register for the Match are:

  • $90 USD registration fee for each program registered for the Match by the residency
  • $70 USD for the 1st position offered in each program
  • $55 USD per position for the 2nd through 6th positions offered in each program
  • $45 USD per position for the 7th and subsequent positions offered in each program

Payment

Registration fees can be paid online at the time of registration by credit card.

If your residency is already registered and you have an outstanding invoice that must be paid, you have two options:

Checks should be made payable to National Matching Services Inc. and mailed (with sufficient postage to Canada) or sent by courier delivery service to:

After You Register

Once you complete registration, you will receive an email confirmation with the Code Number(s) and description(s) for each registered program. Be sure to provide the Code Number(s) to your applicants, as they uniquely identify your program(s) in the Match. This is especially important if your residency offers multiple programs.

Registered residencies also receive complimentary access to NMS Interview, a tool that streamlines interview scheduling.

You can update your residency or program details in the NMS Match System, including the number of positions offered, adding or withdrawing a program, or updating contact information.
