Content

When the results of each Phase of the Match are released, the following information will be available to applicants:

  • The Match result obtained by each applicant
  • For unmatched applicants - a list of positions that remain available after the Match. Programs with available positions will be able to access a list of unmatched applicants.
  • Summary statistics of the results of the Match for applicants and programs

Distribution

Match result notification e-mails will be sent to all applicants and programs that submitted Rank Order Lists. The e-mails are sent on the morning of the Match Results Release Date for each Phase of the Match with the intention of having all e-mails sent by 11:00 a.m. ET. Due to unreliable e-mail exchanges and inbound servers, we cannot guarantee a delivery time for the e-mails.

Beginning at 12:00 p.m. noon ET on the Match Results Release Date for each Phase of the Match, each registered applicant and program can log in to the NMS Match System to access their personal Match result online.

If you matched to a position, you should contact the program to acknowledge the Match result as soon as possible after 12:00 p.m. noon ET on the Match Results Release Date. Programs must send letters of confirmation of the Match results to matched applicants within 10 days of the Match Results Release Date. Matched applicants must sign and return the letters of confirmation within 30 days of the Match Results Release Date.

If you did not match in Phase I, you may participate in the Post-Match Process described below for any available ORTHO, PERIO, PROS, ANES and Canadian GPR positions, and/or participate in Phase II of the Match for AEGD, US GPR, OMS and PED positions.

Although NMS makes every effort to provide you with your Match result on the Match Results Release Date, failure to receive your result on that day does not affect your obligation to the program to which you are matched.

Statistics

Aggregate statistics on the participation and outcome of the Match will be posted online beginning at 12:00 p.m. noon ET on the Match Results Release Date for each Phase of the Match.
