Postdoctoral Dental Matching Program for Positions Beginning in 2026

Release Dates

Phase II

Match result information for AEGD, US GPR, OMS and PED positions will be available at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on January 21, 2026.

Phase I

You must log in to the NMS Match System to access your Phase I Match result. Applicants who are not matched have access to the List of Programs with Available Positions in the NMS Match System.

Content

When the Phase II results of the Match are released, the following information will be available to applicants:

  • The Match result obtained by each applicant
  • For unmatched applicants - a list of positions that remain available after the Match. Programs with available positions will be able to access information on unmatched applicants.
  • Summary statistics of the results of the Match for applicants and programs

Distribution

Email: Match result notification emails will be sent to each applicant and each program that submitted a Rank Order List. The emails are sent on the morning of the Match Results Day for Phase II of the Match with the goal of having all emails sent by 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time. However, due to unreliable email exchanges and inbound servers, delivery times cannot be guaranteed.

Beginning at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on the Phase II Match Results Day, each registered applicant and program can log into the NMS Match System to access their personal Match result online.

If you matched to a position, you should contact the program to acknowledge the Match result as soon as possible after 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on the Match Results Day. Programs must send letters of confirmation of the Match results to matched applicants within 10 days of the Match Results Day. Matched applicants must return the letter of confirmation in accordance with the program's instructions within 30 days of the Match Results Day.

If you did not match in Phase I, you may participate in the Post-Match Process described below for any available ORTHO, PERIO, PROS, ANES and Canadian GPR positions, and/or participate in Phase II of the Match for AEGD, US GPR, OMS and PED positions.

Although NMS makes every effort to provide you with your Match result on the Match Results Day, failure to receive your result on that day does not affect your obligation to the program to which you are matched.

Statistics

Phase II statistics will be released on January 21, 2026.
