Program Registration Opens: Registration emails for participation in the SSO Breast Match are sent to Program Directors, who must complete the online registration process. |

Applicant Registration and Applications Open: Match registration and the Application Service open for applicants. A list of programs participating in the SSO Breast Match will be available on this website. Prior to registering, applicants should review the information in the Applicant Registration section of this website. Applicants cannot use the SSO Breast Match Application Service until they have registered for the SSO Breast Match. Instructions for registering and for using the Application Service are provided on this website. |
| January 19, 2024 |
Application Deadline: Final date for submission of applications to programs participating in the SSO Breast Match. No registrations or applications can be submitted after 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on this date. |
| February 5, 2024 |
Interview Notification: Beginning on this date, programs may invite applicants to interview for positions being offered in the SSO Breast Match. |
| February 29, 2024 - June 29, 2024 | Interviews: Programs may conduct interviews with applicants during this period. No interviews may be conducted prior to February 29 or after June 29. |
| June 10, 2024 |
Rankings Open: Applicants and programs may begin to submit Rank Order Lists for the SSO Breast Match. |
| July 8, 2024 |
Rank Order List Deadline: Applicant and program Rank Order Lists must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. No Rank Order Lists, applications, registrations, or withdrawals can be submitted in the NMS Match System after this deadline. |
| July 15, 2024 |
Match Results Day: Results of the SSO Breast Match are released to applicants and Program Directors. The Post-Match Process begins at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time. |
| July 15, 2024 - August 14, 2024 | Program Directors send letters of confirmation of the SSO Breast Match results to matched applicants within 10 working days of the release of the SSO Breast Match results. Applicants must sign and return the letters of confirmation within 30 days of the release of the SSO Breast Match results. If a program accepts an unmatched applicant during the Post-Match Process, the program must notify SSO in writing within 30 days of the acceptance of the unmatched applicant. It is the responsibility of the Program Director to notify SSO of any fellow taken outside of the Match or of any changes in the status of a matched fellow. |
