Why are students from my doctoral program not eligible for the Match?
Beginning with the 2018 APPIC Match, only academic programs that are APPIC Doctoral Program Associates (DPAs) may send students into the Match.
To become a DPAs, a program must comply with APPIC's Doctoral Program Associate Policy, apply to and be approved by APPIC, and pay an annual fee to APPIC.
Academic programs that are not DPAs may be able to have their applicants participate in the Post-Match Vacancy Service (PMVS) if the doctoral program meets the criteria outlined in paragraphs 1a-1c of APPIC's Policy on Doctoral Program Associates and is approved by APPIC. Programs approved by APPIC under these criteria will not be accepted as a DPA and will not have to pay a fee to APPIC.
