Registration Process & Fees

  • When is the registration deadline?

It is recommended that you register to participate in the APPIC Match by October 15, 2023, although registrations will be accepted after that date. You must be registered for the APPIC Match before you can submit any applications to programs.

If you register after December 31, 2023, your Director of Clinical Training will need to provide online authorization before you will be able to complete the registration process.

If you intend to participate in Phase I of the Match, you should be registered before entry of Rank Order Lists for Phase I begins on January 15, 2024 so that programs can rank you when they submit their Rank Order Lists. If you intend to participate in Phase II of the Match, you should be registered before entry of Rank Order Lists for Phase II begins on February 23, 2024 so that programs can rank you when they submit their Rank Order Lists.

No applicant registrations are allowed after March 13, 2024.

  • Can I get a refund of my registration fee?

No. As stated in the Applicant Agreement and on the registration payment page, the applicant registration fee is non-refundable, non-transferable and irrevocable. It cannot be refunded, transferred to another person, or used for another year.

Account & Login

  • What login credentials do I use?

Log into the NMS Match System using the email address and password you set up when registering for the Match. If you have changed your email or password in the NMS Match System since registering, use those new values to log in.

  • How do I reset my password?

If you do not know your password, use the "Forgot Password?" link located on the NMS Match System Login page.

Please Note: You will need your password to certify your Rank Order List. It is advised that you use a password you can remember, rather than a randomly generated password that is saved in your browser.

  • How do I find and use my Match Code Number?

Your Match Code Number can be found in the NMS Match System:

    • Log in to the NMS Match System
    • Select the Profile section on the Dashboard
    • Your Match Code Number is found at the top of the page

Use your Match Code Number in all future correspondence pertaining to the Match. You should also enter your Match Code Number into your AAPI application, so that the programs you apply to will be able to identify you by your Match Code Number.

Withdraw

  • What are the implications of withdrawing from the Match?

When you withdraw, you must indicate which Phase(s) of the Match you are withdrawing from.

If you withdraw from either Phase of the Match, you will not be matched to a position in that Phase of the Match. You will be displayed to training sites within the NMS Match System as withdrawn for that Phase. Any rankings of programs you may have submitted for that Phase of the Match will not be used in the Match.

Withdrawn applicants are permitted to seek positions after each Phase of the Match. Applicants who withdraw from Phase I of the Match will be permitted to participate in Phase II of the Match. Applicants who withdraw from Phase II of the Match and who have not obtained an internship position will be permitted to participate in the Post-Match Vacancy Service operated by APPIC after the results of Phase II of the Match are released.

Withdrawing from the Match does not affect your eligibility to participate in the Match in future years.
