①  Register

There is no registration process required for ORMatch schools. In October, the Directors of Residencies of eligible schools will receive personalized login credentials and instructions for accessing the NMS Match System.

②   Manage Your Account

After logging in to the NMS Match System, you can update your school information, add secondary users to your account, review your list of registered students, and view applications to your affiliated residencies.

③   Participating Students

Directors of Residencies have access in the NMS Match System to a list of students who graduated or will graduate from their school or college and are registered for ORMatch. This list is updated in real time, as students register.

④   Applications

Directors of Residencies have access in the NMS Match System to the applications submitted to their affiliated residencies that have registered to participate in ORMatch. Each residency sets its own application deadline and requirements; it is their responsibility to ensure their application requirements are correctly specified in the ASCO Residency Directory.

⑤   Match Results

NMS uses an established and proven matching algorithm to process the Rank Order Lists submitted by applicants and programs. Applicants will be matched to the most preferred program on their Rank Order List that ranks them and does not fill all its positions with applicants it prefers. Similarly, each program will be matched with their most preferred applicant(s) that rank the program and do not match to programs the applicants prefer.

Match results are sent to Directors of Residencies by email and are also available in the NMS Match System. When results are released, Directors of Residencies will have access to the following:

  • The results for each residency program affiliated with your school, and for each participating applicant from your school.
  • Summary statistics on applications, rankings, and results for each of your programs.
  • A comprehensive list of the results for all matched applicants.
  • A list of programs with positions available in the Post-Match Process.
  • A downloadable file with details on unmatched applicants who may still be seeking a position.
