Do I need to pay to submit applications?
As part of the fee you pay to register for the Match, you are provided with 10 credits to submit up to 10 applications to programs at no additional charge.
If you want to send more than 10 applications, you will need to purchase more credits from within the NMS Match System at a cost of $15 per application.
I can't find the program to which I want to apply.
You can only send applications using the NMS Match System to programs that are registered for the Match. Consult the List of Participating Programs to ensure the program you want to rank is registered for the Match.
If the program is not included in the List of Participating Programs, contact the Program Coordinator directly to clarify the program's participation status in the Match.
Programs can be searched in the NMS Match System and the List of Participating Programs by name of residency site, location (city/state), program description, Program Coordinator name, or program Code Number as they appear in the List of Participating Programs.
I do not intend to submit a Rank Order List. What do I need to do?
If you do not intend to submit a Rank Order List you must withdraw from the Match. The deadline to withdraw from the Match is March 8, 2019
What are the implications of withdrawing?
If you withdraw, you will be displayed to residency sites within the NMS Match System as withdrawn. You will not be matched to a position and you will not be included on the List of Unmatched Applicants provided to programs for the Post-Match Process. Any rankings of programs you may have submitted will not be used in the Match. You will also not receive further communication about participating in the Match from NMS. However, you will still have access to the List of Programs with Available Positions for the Post-Match Process.
Please Note: Withdrawing from the Match does not affect your eligibility to participate in the Match in future years.
The program I want to rank is withdrawn.
You should leave the withdrawn program ranked on your list. If you leave the program on your list and the program's participation status in the Match becomes Active before the Rank Order List deadline, that ranking will be used in the Match. If the program remains withdrawn, that ranking will not be used in the Match, and your list will be processed as if you had not ranked the withdrawn program.
Can I change my rankings after certifying my list?
Yes. Even if you have already certified your Rank Order List, you can return at any time to make changes until the Rank Order List deadline.
If you make changes to a list after it is certified, the list will become uncertified and you will have to re-certify the list prior to the Rank Order List deadline in order for it to be used in the Match.
Can I view my Rank Order List after the deadline?
You will be able to view your Rank Order List until 4 days after the ORMatch results are released. However, you will not be able to change any information or certify a Rank Order List in the NMS Match System after the Rank Order List deadline.
