Each residency's accreditation status with the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education (ACOE) is provided in the list. The accreditation status information has been provided to NMS by each residency, and is not guaranteed to be accurate by NMS or ASCO. Additional or updated accreditation status information for any residency may be obtained directly from the ACOE website.

Each program has a description that reflects the area(s) of specialization offered by the program, in accordance with ASCO's Residency Titles and Descriptions. The program's Category is listed first, and represents the majority of the program's clinical and didactic curricula. For programs with multiple areas of specialization, the description includes one or two Emphasis Areas which represent a substantial portion (≥ 30%) of the clinical and didactic curricula.
