When will I find out if I've been invited to interview?
Each residency sets its own policies and procedures for scheduling and conducting interviews, so you should check with each residency directly regarding its procedures. If the residency schedules its interviews using the NMS Match System, you can log into your NMS Match System account to see if the residency has sent you an invitation. If the residency schedules its interviews using another method, you must contact the residency directly regarding your interview status.
All interviews must be completed prior to the Rank Order List deadline.

How do I cancel an interview scheduled using the NMS Match System?
You should only cancel an interview if you do not want to interview with that program. If you want to reschedule to a different time, do not cancel your interview. Once cancelled, you cannot schedule an interview of that type with the residency until the residency sends you a new invitation.
To canel an interview:
- Log in to the NMS Match System
- Select Interviews from the menu.
- Select List View
- Find the residency in the list (residencies are sorted alphabetically) and select the View button
- Select the Reject this Interview link for the interview type you wish to cancel.

Can I discuss my rankings with a program or ask if the program will rank me?
Applicants and programs may freely discuss any matter and may express a high level of interest in each other. Communication guidelines regarding rankings information are as follows:
- A program may voluntarily inform an applicant as to whether or not it intends to rank the applicant.
- An applicant may voluntarily inform a program as to whether or not the applicant intends to rank the program.
- Neither party (program or applicant) may solicit the intentions for ranking from the other party.
- Neither party may disclose to the other party or solicit from the other party any information regarding the positioning of any applicant or program on a Rank Order List.
Any expression of interest or intention to rank made during the free discussion between a program and an applicant is subject to change based on further considerations by either party. Both applicants and programs have the right to change their Rank Order Lists at any time prior to the Rank Order List deadline.
