The 2018 MedPhys Match


Log In to the System

  • Access the Online NMS Match System

    You can access the NMS Match System by selecting the Log In option in the menu button in the top-right corner of the screen.

    To log in to the NMS Match System you will need to enter both the e-mail address and password that you previously set up in the system (e.g., when you registered for the Match). If you have changed your e-mail address or password in the NMS Match System since registering, you will need to use the most current values to log in.

    Please note that if you registered to participate in the MedPhys Match in a previous year you will need to register and set up a new account for the 2018 Match. Registrations do not carry over from year to year.

    Consult the Schedule of Dates to see when the NMS Match System will be available.

  • Forgot Password?

    If you do not know your password, please use the Forgot Password? option available on the NMS Match System login page.

    If you need assistance in answering your security questions, please contact NMS.

Dashboard Information

After you log into the NMS Match System you are presented with a Dashboard. The Dashboard shows your current participation status in the Match, your couple status, and information about your rankings for the Match.

  • Change Your Participation Status

    The Status section shows your participation status in the Match. All registered applicants who intend to submit a Rank Order List for the Match should have a status of Active.

    If you do not intend to submit a Rank Order List for the Match, you must withdraw from the Match prior to the Rank Order List deadline.

    To withdraw from the Match:

    • Select the Edit button in the Status section of the Dashboard.
    • Select a reason for withdrawing.
    • Enter your password and press Submit.

    If you withdraw, but later decide to submit a Rank Order List for the Match, you should reinstate yourself to participate in the Match prior to the Rank Order List deadline. To reinstate yourself in the Match:

    • Select the Edit button in the Status section of the Dashboard
    • Follow the instructions provided on the screen to complete the reinstatement process.
  • Couple Status

    All registered applicants start with a Couple Status of INDIVIDUAL. If you want to participate in the Match as part of a couple, you must change your Couple Status to COUPLED by identifying your partner.

    • Select the Edit button in the Couple Status section of the Dashboard
    • Enter your partner's Match Code Number and press Submit
    • Once submitted you will be asked to confirm that you wish to be partnered with the applicant registered with the Match Code Number that you have entered.

    Your Couple Status will change to PENDING until your partner identifies you as their partner. Once your partner identifies you as their partner, your Couple Status will change to COUPLED.

    If your partner does not identify you as their partner, your rankings will be treated as if you are an individual applicant in the Match.

  • Rank Order List Status

    The Rankings section of the Dashboard provides a summary of your Rank Order List information. The summary information shows the number of ranks on your Rank Order List and whether or not your Rank Order List is certified for use in the Match.

    • Select the Edit button to access your Rank Order List, view your rankings, make changes or certify your list.

Edit Your Account Information

You can change your e-mail, password and security questions in the Account section, which is accessed by selecting the appropriate option from the menu.

You can update your Account information prior the Rank Order List deadline.

Ensure the e-mail address used for your account is valid as all Match communications, including your Match result, will be sent to that e-mail address.

  • If you change your e-mail or password, you will have to use the new values the next time you log in to the NMS Match System.

Edit Your Profile Information

Your Profile information is accessed by selecting the appropriate option from the menu, and includes your name, mailing address, telephone number(s), birth day, school and graduation date.

You can update your Profile information prior to the Rank Order List deadline.

  • Change Profile Information
    • Select the Edit button next to the information you want to change.
    • Update information, and press the Save button.

    Detailed instructions about the content to be entered into each field can be found by pressing the tooltip icon (?) next to the field name.

You should ensure that phone number(s) are on file where you can be reached during the period from submission of your Rank Order List until release of the Match results in case questions arise regarding your Rank Order List.

Enter and Certify Your Rankings

You will not be able to access the NMS Match System to enter or certify your Rank Order List after the Rank Order List deadline. You are strongly advised to enter your rankings and certify your Rank Order List well before the Rank Order List deadline to avoid system access problems near the deadline.

Enter, Edit and Print Your Rank Order List

Information and instructions for applicants on the use of the NMS Match System to enter and certify Rank Order Lists will be posted on this web site by February 23, 2018.

Log Out

For security reasons, you should end each session on the NMS Match System by selecting Log Out.

System Requirements

The online NMS Match System is designed to be used with the security and features of modern web browsers. You must have JavaScript enabled and accept cookies in order for the NMS Match System to function correctly.

  • Recommended Browsers

    We recommend using the most up to date version of one of the following browsers:

    If you access the system with a browser that is not in the list above, or with a browser that is significantly out of date, you may see warning messages and experience problems.

Technical Support

The NMS Match System includes Help screens and tooltips marked by the tooltip icon (?) that can be displayed from within the system. In addition, if you have questions concerning your use of the NMS Match System, you can call NMS for technical support from 10:00 a.m. ET through 4:00 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, at 800-461-6322.
