Register for the Match

2026 Extern Match

Eligibility

To participate in the Extern Match, a site must be approved by NYNJADOT & PENDELDOT.

All sites that register to participate in the Extern Match are expected to adhere to the minimally acceptable standards for externship set out in the Extern Match Guidelines.

Sites must be registered for the Extern Match in order to receive applications from applicants, schedule interviews, submit a Rank Order List, and be ranked by applicants.

Registration Process

Registration for the 2027 Match will begin in November, 2027.

All sites should be registered and have completed their profile in the Extern Match Portal by November 24, 2025. While registrations will be accepted after this date, applicants require a substantial amount of time to identify programs of interest, assemble their application materials and submit their applications. Therefore, you should register as soon as possible and well before the January 23, 2026 application deadline date.

Consult the Registration Guide for step-by-step instructions for registering for Extern Match.
