The Match Process

  • What is the Dental Match?

The Dental Match is a process used by many postdoctoral dental education residency programs to place applicants into the first year of their training positions.

The Match simplifies the offer and acceptance process to help applicants obtain positions of their choice, and to help programs obtain applicants of their choice.

The Match is administered by National Matching Services Inc. (NMS).

  • How can I receive Match reports for my school from NMS?

In September, NMS sends emails to US and Canadian dental schools providing the initial login credentials and instructions to access the online NMS Match System. The emails are sent to the individual on file at NMS as the contact person for the school. If you do not receive an email from NMS by September 27, please contact NMS.

The name and email address of the contact person at the school can be changed in the NMS Match System. NMS will send reports of Match results to only one contact person at each school.
