Postdoctoral Dental Matching Program for Positions Beginning in 2020

When will the List of Available Positions for the Post-Match be posted?

The List of Available Positions for the Post-Match process will be posted on the same day that Match results are released for each Phase of the Match.

If you did not register for the Match, but are interested in accessing the list, please contact NMS. To get access to the list, you will be required to pay the same registration fee that was paid by applicants who registered for the Match.

How does the Post-Match Process work?

Following release of the results for each Phase of the Match, unmatched applicants are permitted to seek and fill positions that remain available from that Phase of the Match, independently of the Match. However, no action to fill positions available in the Post-Match is to be taken prior to 12:00 p.m. noon on the Match Results Release Date for each Phase of the Match.

Applicants who are offered a position in the Post Match are not required to notify NMS.

What if I refuse to take my matched position?

The Match result constitutes a binding commitment from which neither the applicant nor the residency can withdraw.

Applicants who do not accept appointment to the position to which they matched will be in violation of the Applicant Agreement of the Postdoctoral Dental Matching Program.

Violations of the Agreement, such as rejecting a matched position, will be reported to the appropriate sponsoring organization and the sponsoring organization may pursue all available remedies, including reporting the applicant's actions to the applicant's dental school or to other Match participants. Even upon receiving a written release from the residency, the sponsoring organization may impose penalties on such applicants, such as cancellation or denial of memberships in the sponsoring organizations, or barring the applicant from participating in future Matches.
