Can I get a refund of my registration fee?
As stated in the Applicant Agreement and on the registration payment page, the applicant registration fee is non-refundable, non-transferable and irrevocable. It cannot be refunded, transferred to another person, or used for another year.
How do I find and use my Match Code Number?
Your Match Code Number is shown in the NMS Match System:
- Log in to the NMS Match System
- Select the Profile section on the Dashboard
- Your Code Number will be found at the top of the page
Your Match Code Number is not the same as your ADEA PASS ID.
It is recommended that you provide your Match Code Number to all the programs to which you apply. Your Code Number uniquely identifies you in the Match. Programs can use this Code Number to search for you in the NMS Match System when they are preparing or entering their Rank Order Lists.
Do I need to pay the Match registration fee twice if I participate in both Phase I and II of the Match?
No. The Match registration fee covers participation in both Phase I and Phase II of the Match. Applicants who submit separate Rank Order Lists for Phase I and Phase II of the Match are not required to pay an additional fee to NMS.
Where can I find the "Applicant Agreement Package"?
Some programs may request that you obtain an "Applicant Agreement Package" from the Dental Match. These programs have outdated instructions. The "Applicant Agreement Package" has been replaced by the online applicant registration system.
Programs making that request want to ensure that you are registered to participate in the Match and likely want to know your Match Code Number. Contact the program directly to clarify their application requirements and to determine the appropriate method for providing them with your Match Code Number.
Can I register to participate in Phase II after the Phase I Rank Order List deadline?
You only need to register once to participate in either or both Phases of the Match. If you did not register for the Match prior to the Phase I Rank Order List deadline, you can register to participate in Phase II until the Phase II Rank Order List deadline on January 10, 2020. However, you should ensure that you register early enough so that there is sufficient time to submit rankings and be ranked by programs. Most programs submit their Rank Order Lists for the Match before the Rank Order List deadline. Therefore, to ensure you are able to be ranked by programs, you should register well before the final date listed above, and preferably before the system opens for the entry of rankings for Phase II.
What are the implications of withdrawing?
If you withdraw, you will not be matched to a position. Any rankings of programs you may have submitted will not be used in the Match. You will also not receive further communication about participating in the Match from NMS. However, you will still have access to the List of Programs with Available Positions that is posted after each Phase of the Match.
Applicants who withdraw from the Match will be displayed to residencies within the NMS Match System as withdrawn.
Withdrawing from the Match does not effect your eligibility to participate in the Post-Match process, or to participate in the Match in future years.
