Registration Process & Fees

  • When is the registration deadline?

It is recommended that you register to participate in the Dental Match by October 1, 2023, although registrations will be accepted after that date. The final deadline to register to participate in Phase I of the Match for ORTHO, PERIO, PROS, ANES and Canadian GPR positions is November 13, 2023. The final deadline to register for Phase II of the Match for AEGD, US GPR, OMS and PED positions is January 12, 2024.

Programs require a significant amount of time to review applications, schedule interviews, and evaluate applicants. Most programs submit their Rank Order Lists for the Match well before those deadlines. Therefore, to ensure you are properly considered and able to be ranked by programs, you should register well before the final dates listed above.

  • Can I get a refund of my registration fee?

No. As stated in the Applicant Agreement and on the registration payment page, the applicant registration fee is non-refundable, non-transferable and irrevocable. It cannot be refunded, transferred to another person, or used for another year.

  • Can I register to participate in Phase II after the Phase I Rank Order List Deadline?

You only need to register once to participate in either or both Phases of the Match. If you did not register for the Match prior to the Phase I Rank Order List deadline, you can register to participate in Phase II until the Phase II Rank Order List deadline on January 12, 2024.

However, programs require a significant amount of time to review applications, schedule interviews, and evaluate applicants. Therefore, you should be registered well before Phase II Rank Order List deadline in order to be properly considered by a program for a position in Phase II of the Match.

Account & Login

  • What login credentials do I use?

Log into the NMS Match System using the email address and password you set up when registering for the Match. If you have changed your email or password in the NMS Match System since registering, use those new values to log in.

  • How do I reset my password?

If you do not know your password, use the "Forgot Password?" link located on the NMS Match System Login page.

Please Note: You will need your password to certify your Rank Order List. It is advised that you use a password you can remember, rather than a randomly generated password that is saved in your browser.

  • How do I find and use my Match Code Number?

Your Match Code Number is shown in the NMS Match System:

    • Log in to the NMS Match System
    • Select the Profile section on the Dashboard
    • Your Code Number will be found at the top of the page

Your Match Code Number is not the same as your ADEA PASS ID.

Withdraw

  • What are the implications of withdrawing from the Match?

If you withdraw, you will not be matched to a position. Any rankings you may have submitted will not be used in the Match. You will also not receive further communication about participating in the Match from NMS. However, you will still have access to the List of Programs with Available Positions that is posted after each Phase of the Match.

Applicants who withdraw from the Match will be displayed to residencies within the NMS Match System as withdrawn.

Withdrawing from the Match does not effect your eligibility to participate in the Post-Match Process, or to participate in the Match in future years.
