APPCN Match result information will be available at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on February 19, 2025.
Content
When the results are released, the following information will be available to programs:
- A downloadable PDF report of the APPCN Match results for each program.
- A file of information on applicants who certified a Rank Order List for the APPCN Match but were not matched to a position, or who withdrew but indicated they are still seeking a position.
- Summary statistics of the results of the APPCN Match for applicants and residency sites.
When the results are released, unmatched applicants will have access to a list of positions that remain available after the Match. Programs that participated in the Match will be able to update the information shown on this list, including contact information and the number of positions available in each program.
Distribution
Email: Match result notification emails will be sent in the morning of February 19, 2025 with the intention of having all emails sent by 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time. Results will be sent by email to residency sites that participated in the Match (i.e., certified a Rank Order List and did not withdraw). Due to inconsistent message handling by inbound email servers, we cannot guarantee a delivery time for the emails.
Web: Match result information will be available in the NMS Match System beginning at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on February 19, 2025.
The same Match result information will be provided by email and online. Any residency site that does not receive its result by email should access the result online. Although NMS makes every effort to provide you with your Match result on APPCN Match Day, failure to receive your result on that day does not affect your obligation to the applicants matched to your residency site.
Residency sites and their matched applicant(s) should contact each other to acknowledge the Match result as soon as possible after 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on February 19, 2025. Program Directors must send letters of confirmation of the APPCN Match result to matched applicants, according to the APPCN Match Policies.
Post-Match Process
Following release of the results, programs with unfilled positions are permitted to seek applicants and fill positions that remain available independently of the APPCN Match. No action to fill positions remaining unfilled from the APPCN Match is to be taken prior to 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on February 19, 2025. NMS is not involved in the filling of positions during the Post-Match Process.
Programs will have access to information on unmatched applicants in the NMS Match System beginning at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on February 19, 2025. To assist programs in identifying applicants who may be interested in their available position(s), the information provided on each unmatched applicant will include the type(s) of programs (adult, pediatric, lifespan) which the applicant indicated they would be interested in if they remained unmatched.
A List of Programs with Available Positions will also be provided to applicants in the NMS Match System beginning at 12:00 p.m. noon Eastern Time on February 19, 2025. Information on this list may be updated by Program Directors.
