Start the Registration Process
The online registration process must be completed by the Program Director.
1.
Use the link in the registration email to start the registration process.
Each residency site is provided with a unique registration link. Program Directors responsible for more than one site will receive separate emails for each residency site and must use the unique link provided in each email to register that residency site.
If you have not received a personalized email to register your residency site for the Match by September 24, please contact NMS.
2.
If your residency site will not be offering any positions beginning in 2026, do not complete the registration process; instead, use the appropriate link provided in the registration email sent to your residency to indicate you will not be participating in the 2026 Match.
2
Set Up Your Account
Account information is not carried over from previous years. Each Program Director will need to set up a new account in the NMS Match System for the 2026 Match.
1.
Enter the email address of the Program Director.
The email address you enter will uniquely identify your account and will be your username for the NMS Match System.
- If you are responsible for more than one residency site, you can use the same account (email and password) for all your residency sites.
- If the email address entered is different from the one pre-populated on the screen, or if an account already exists with that email address, you will need to follow the onscreen prompts to confirm ownership of the email address.
-
What if I want Match communications sent to a different contact?
The Program Director must register the residency site for the APPCN Match and have an account in the NMS Match System as they maintain primary responsibility for participating in and following the rules of the APPCN Match.
Once registered, the Program Director can setup secondary user accounts for residency site staff from the Account page in the NMS Match System. Secondary users are provided with limited permissions. They can view, manage, and change all residency site information and are copied on relevant emails (e.g., confirmations, reminders, etc.) sent to the Program Director, but they can not add or manage other users.
2.
Provide a password and complete the security questions for your account.
Once your account has been created, you can log in to the NMS Match System. If you quit the registration process before it is completed, you can log in at another time and complete the process.
PLEASE NOTE: To ensure emails from NMS are not inadvertently directed to your "Spam" or "Junk Mail" folder, please ensure all NMS emails and/or IPs are included on your Allow-List.
3
The Residency Site and Program Information page is where you provide information about your residency site and the programs or tracks that will participate in the APPCN Match.
If your residency site participated in the 2025 Match, information is pre-populated based on your previously submitted information. Please review the pre-populated information carefully. You may make changes to this pre-populated information as described below.
1.
Residency Site Information
Contact Information
If any of the information is incorrect, or is not pre-populated on the page, please update that information accordingly.
Residency URL
If your residency site has a website with information for applicants, please provide the full website URL (e.g., https://your-institution.com/your-residency). The URL will be included on the List of Participating Programs that is posted publicly on the APPCN Match website. URLs can be a maximum of 250 characters.
2.
Program Information
Program Description
Each program offered by your residency site in the Match must have a unique program description that reflects the primary emphasis of the program (e.g., Adult Neuropsychology, Pediatric Neuropsychology, etc.). Programs that are primarily focused on research should provide a description that indicates "Primarily Research". Program descriptions can be a maximum of 50 characters including spaces between words.
Many residency sites offer only one form of training; other residency sites may offer more than one type of training (e.g., pediatric track separate from adult track). In most cases, residency sites that offer more than one type of training should consider registering each type of training as a separate program in the APPCN Match.
-
Should I register multiple programs for my residency site?
One Type of Training
If your residency site offers only one type of training, or if it is not desirable for applicants to be able to rank your residency site’s tracks separately in the APPCN Match, then your residency site should offer only one program in the Match.Multiple Types of Training
Offering multiple programs will permit your applicants to rank each of your residency site’s programs separately in the Match, and enable you to rank specific applicants for each program offered by your residency site. Each registered program will be identified by a unique 4-digit Code Number and must have a unique and clearly distinguished description that is different from any other program offered by your residency site. Do not use the default description of “Clinical Neuropsychology” for any of the programs.
-
Adding a Program
If you wish to add a program, select the Add New Program link at the bottom of the program information section of the page. You must enter the number of positions to be filled in 2026, provide a program description and press the Add button. The description of the new program must be unique and clearly distinguish that program from any other program offered by your residency site. You may also need to modify the description(s) of the previously existing program(s) offered by your residency site to ensure the program descriptions clearly identify each program. A unique 4-digit Match Code Number will be assigned to the program automatically by the system when it is added.
-
Deleting a Program
If a program that is displayed on the page will not be offering positions in 2026, you should delete the program. Note that every residency site registered for the APPCN Match must have at least one program. You will not be able to delete a program if it is the only one listed for the residency site. If your residency site will not be offering any positions beginning in 2026, use the appropriate link in the registration email to indicate your residency site will not be participating in the 2026 APPCN Match.
Positions Available
You must verify or provide the number of positions to be filled in 2026 for each program offered in the APPCN Match. All clinical neuropsychology residency positions to be filled in 2026 at your residency site must be offered in the Match. You may change the number of positions offered, if necessary, at any time up to the Rank Order List deadline for the Match, February 11, 2026.
3.
Once all the information on the Residency Site and Program information page has been entered correctly, select the Continue button.
4
Accept the Match Agreement and Policies
You must electronically sign the Residency Site Agreement for the 2026 APPCN Match. Read the Agreement page carefully, as your residency site will be committed to abide by the Agreement once it is registered.
5
Registration Confirmation
After the registration process is complete for your residency site, you will receive a confirmation by email. The confirmation will include the Code Number(s) and program description(s) for each of your program(s) registered for the APPCN Match, as well as a copy of the Residency Site Agreement, APPCN Match Policies and Schedule of Dates. You should provide the program Code Number(s) to each of your applicants.
